Show Frances Ball at Conference East Northfield, Mass., July 18 Miss Prances F. Ball, a teacher of Wasatch Academy, is among the 600 women attending the 29th Northfield Interdenomin a 1 1 o n al Foreign Missionary Conference, which has continued one week and closes tomorrow night. All the New-England New-England states and New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, as well as 150 churches are represented repre-sented by the delegates. This is the third of the six annual summer sum-mer conference started by Dwight L. Moody, the evangelist, 52 years ago. Special emphasis this week Is placed on the. study of China. Twenty classes on Missionary Fundamentals, Missionary Education, Educa-tion, and Bible Study meet daily under the leadership of professors and secretaries of eight denominational denomina-tional fnrpicn missionarv boards. The Protestant denominations present are Baptist, Congregation- ( al, Methodist, Presbyterian, Be- j formed Church in America, Friends , Lutheran, and Universalist. ' A model session of the Geneva Disarmament Conference will be ( held tonight, all the characters be- . tag represented by the members of '. the missionary group. A pageant, "Living for God", is also on the program. A reception to missionaries, missionar-ies, sunset services on Round Top, and a Consecration Service make up some of the special events. About 250 young women live in tents on thecampus, and enjoy recreational activities such as swimming, hiking, tennis, and horseback riding. Some leading speakers are Dr. Oscar M. Buck, Professor at Drew Seminary, Madison, New Jersey; Professor Milton B. Stauffer of New Brunswick, New Jersey; Gertrude Ger-trude Schultz, Chairman of the Central Committee on United Study; and Rev. Dwight Bradley, D. D., of Boston, Massachusetts. The next conference following immediately is the Northfield School of Religious Education-July Education-July 21-30. |
