Show A Survey of Pigments and Faint-Making Faint-Making Materials in Western States The United States Bureau of Mines, at its station at Seatle, in cooperation with the College of Mines of the University Uni-versity of Washington, is making a survey of pigments and paint-making materials in the Western States. Inasmuch as it is very essential that all possible data be available, in connection con-nection with the mineral resources of Utah, for the use of any individual or company desiring to aevelop new industries in-dustries in Utah, the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Research of the Uiversity of Utah will be very glad to receive samples of ochers and mineral min-eral pigments from any part of the country, which will be submitted to the Bureau ol Mines station at Seattle for testing. However, all samples that are sent in for testing should be accompanied by as complete geological geologi-cal data as possible, including of course the location of the deposit, its probable size, accessibility, etc. In the past, red pigment material has been mined in the northwestern part of Piute county and yellow ocher has been mined to some extent near Gunnison.
