In Vocational Agriculture The following is a letter from the executive ex-ecutive secretary of the Future Fanners Fann-ers of America to Mr. Humphreys, state supervisor of Agricultural Education Educa-tion for Utah: Blacksburg, Virginia. November, 1, 1929. Mr. L. R. Humphreys State Supervisor, Department of Public Instruction Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Mr. Humphreys: Dr. C. H Lane, the national advisor of the Future Farmers of America has asked me to advise you that the credentials cre-dentials of Jay Winkelman gives him an excellent chance to receive the American Farmer Degree at the second sec-ond annual congress at Kansas City this fall. ' This information is based on the score that your boy has made so far and the award of the degree is subject sub-ject to a vote of the Board of Trustees, Trus-tees, and the delegates present at the Kansas City meeting. I trust that you will do everything posible to get this boy to Kansas City. As you are aware he can go on a certificate cer-tificate plan for a fare and a half. If he is unable to pay his own expenses perhaps the Future Farmer organization organiza-tion in your state will send him, and failing in this I would suggest that you solicit the aid of civic clubs, chambers of commerce, and the people or the community that the candidate comes from. In the event that this boy is awarded award-ed the Fourth Degree you will have a great deal to crow about. There wero 109 applicants for this degree this year and the applications have been seeded down to 26, for one reason and another. anoth-er. Cordially yours, Henry C. Groseclose, Executive Sec.-Treas.
