Show Crash Hurts Prove Fatal ! 80-Year-Old Ex-Mayor of Fairview Succumbs at Son's Home Otis L. Terry, 80, retired Orem farmer and former mayor of Fair-view, Fair-view, died at the home of his son, Willis Terry, at Orem, early Monday Mon-day morning from shock and a broken leg, received in an automobile automo-bile accident Saturday evening. Mr. Terry was the second former mayor of Fairview to die within 24 hours, Sidney S. Sanderson dying in that city Sunday forenoon. Mr. Terry was attempting to cross the state highway near the Lincoln high school when he was struck by an automobile driven bjr A. Wilkins of Salt Lake, according to the report of Gunard Lund-gren, Lund-gren, Orem city marshal. He evidently evi-dently became confused and walked into the path of the WUkins WU-kins machine, Mr. Lundgren reported. re-ported. Mr. Wilkins was , exonerated. exoner-ated. Mr. Terry was born January 6, 1852, at Mill Creek, a son of Otis L. and Fannie Loveridge Terry. He married Sarah L. Howell at Salt Lake in 1876 and later moved to Fairview, where he served several sev-eral terms as mayor. He also served as president of the M. I. A. He came to Orem . in 1901 and engaged in farming. He served serv-ed as bishop of Timpanogos L. D. S. ward 16 years. Surviving are seven sons and seven daughters: Charles Terry, Mrs. Jennie Farley, Mrs. Fannie Patten, Mrs. Martha Pyne and Willis Terry, Orem; Mrs. Phylinda Nielson, Fairview; Mrs. Roselee Cook, Trydell; Oscar Terry, Black-foot, Black-foot, Idaho; Walter Terry, Jerome. Idaho; Mrs. Olive Humphries, Delta; Edward Terry, Murray; Mrs. Emma Dotty, Salt Lake; Andrew An-drew and Merlin Terry, Provo. |
