Show West's Live Stock Show To Be Held in November The West's finest porkers and woolly lambs, representing the. royalty of all the important breeds of hogs and sheep, will pass in array ar-ray before the judges of the fifth annual Junior Live Stock and Baby Beef Show to be held at the Union Stock Yards in South San Fian:iSco. November 14th to 16th. According to E. W. Stephens manager of the show, this department depart-ment of the exposition will be one of the strongest in the historv of this annual competition of the young livestock people of California, Califor-nia, Nevada and Utah. Members of the Future Farmers of America and the 4H Boys and Girls clubs, the two organizations to whom participation in the show is restricted, re-stricted, will enter in excess of 750 lambs and hogs. The young owners will have both sheep and hogs groomed to perfection per-fection and the acme of quality vying with one another in the hope of taking the coveted grand championship ribbons home to their schools and communities, j The advance indications are that enrollment in all departments of tne snow, DaDy oeei, lamos aim hogs will break all former records, Stephens said. He based his statement state-ment on reports received from the various communities that are always al-ways represented. "I have just recently completed an extensive torn' visiting various Future Farmer and 4H Boys and Girls clubs and it is inspiring to see the confidence and courage ot these young people in whose hands the future of the West's livestock business rests," said Stephens. "The livestock business has hod its problems along with the rest of the country, but there is no note of discouragement among these j boys and girls. Their answer to I the challenge of the times will be seen in the increased quality of j the exhibits that they will bring i to this show." |
