Show IWfiy Not Improve a Commercial Road The more we think about the road leading north irom Mt. Pleasa.it and j?aiview, tho more we feel the need of its being impruved. The saving it would be jo the people of Sanpete County would pay for itself in :ive to seven years. Then, there is the added advantage li new business between counties. People from the north tiririg in fruits, etc., for sale in the county could mako the retain trip with a load of coal. This would develop into s.n important commercial road. I Already there is mora tonnage beiti,g carried on the road north of Mt. Pleasant than anv other road in San pete. And when we stop to think we have only about four and one-half miles of oiled road on the east wing, which doesn't look like say degree of fairness had been made in our behalf by those in charge of the distribution of road improvemsnt work. We p3.y the greater portion por-tion of the taxes, and wc have the greater number of people of either wing in the county. There has been approximately six thousand tons of coal transported over the road north of Mt. Pleasant besides be-sides the regular traffic and the road hasn't been oiled yet. We were promised about eight years ago that the road north of Fairviw would be improved next. And yet today it looks about like it did forty years ago. We don't want your promises, but we do want z. little improvement along with the other roads in th" county. Just look at the matter sqaarely and fairly and 'he honest with the people. |
