Show TV TATTLE l Simon MacCorkindale 'Manimal' debuts New York police consultant consult-ant Jonathan Chase has found a unique way to fight crime. This is the premise of NBC's new Friday night series "Manimal," to debut with a 90-minute episode on Sept. 30. Simon MacCorkindale plays Professor Chase, but you won't always recognize him. He has been experimenting experi-menting with transformation transforma-tion and this has led to the biggest secret in crime fighting since someone found that silly red and blue uniform in Clark Kent's closet. Chase can change himself into a variety of animals ani-mals and that's how he helps detective Brooke McKenzie (Melody Anderson) fight liiijic in tne Dig rtppie. 11115 show ought to be funnier than a barrel of monkies. Nancy & Grace First Lady Nancy Reagan is on hand when "Great Performances" returns on Monday, Sept. 26. She will be part of a musical tribute to the former First Lady of Monaco, in "Princess Grace Remembered." The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted bv Mstislav Rostropovich, will be part of the 90-minute presentation taped at a benefit ben-efit concert last March at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The music will include "Adagio for Strings," the late Princess' favorite selection, selec-tion, and Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 5." A montage of photographs and film clips of Princess Grace's public life and act-Wfli"interviews act-Wfli"interviews witfi""Mrs". Reagan and Rostropovich.
