Show COUNTY TAX ASSOCIATION IS ORGANIZED IN hA.VPETE A county tax association was organized or-ganized yesteiday at Manti for the purpose of keeping in close touch with the expenditure of ali public money of the county, school districts, and eh ;es. L. R. Anderson was selected as president of the county organization, and N. S. Neilsou of Mt. Pleasant wag cho en aj vice-president, with John S. Jilain of Spring City, as secretary. Other -members of the organization are Harry Rasmussen of Fairview, Louis Neilson and Harold Whittaker of Fountain Green, Orlando Bradley aud E. D. Anderson of Moroni, David Beal of Ephraim, and Mr. Ross of Gunnison. These local men will select five men from their respective cities to complete the organization. There is already a state organization organiza-tion of which H. H. Rolapp is president. presi-dent. This organization is com. posed of representatives from each industry in the state, W. D. Cand land of this city representing the livestock interests. The above movement is a most splendid one. It is time something is being done to safe guard the interests in-terests of the tax burdened taxpayers. ( One of the first things that ought - to be done is to see that public of-jficinls, of-jficinls, county, city and school district, dis-trict, publish itemized reports of the money spent by them. Then there would be a fair distribution of taxes collected, and a conservative administration admin-istration of public affairs. We have some public otficials (servants of the taxpayers) who say they do not want the taxpayers to read their financial reports as the taxpayers would pick them all to pieces. This sounds like the servant is telling the master what to do. |
