Show Pressman' Strike Settled New York. A meeting late Friday afternoon of three representatives of the International Printing Fressmens and Assistants Union and three members mem-bers of the New York Publishers Association As-sociation will draw up a contract between be-tween the two organizations whereby where-by members of the International will man the presses deserted Monday night by members of the local unions. K. K. K. Initiation Provides Surprise Billings, Mont. Thousands of visitors visi-tors to the Midland Empire fair were treated Thursday night to a spectacle spec-tacle not advertised on the program. At 10 o'clock the city was aroused by a continuous bursting of air bombs over the rimroeks that surround the northern part of the city. Followed a little later by the bursting into flames of a cross nearly 50 feet In height, the fiery cross of the K. K. K. Back from tho edges of the cliffs stood buglers whose signals moved the white robed members ,in their maneuvers. In front of the buglers burned the cross. To the right of the cross stood an American flag, and nt the base of this, was a large flat rock used as an altar In the initiation ceremonies. At the close of the ceremonies cere-monies several aerial bombs were exploded ex-ploded and tho entire assembly sang 'America.'" |
