Art Ewoldt, former Des Moines third baseman, has arrived from overseas, and the management plans to use him in the outfield. Lefty Bill James, as a pitcher for Galveston, shows signs of coming back-to back-to something like his old form. C. E. Stevens, former Coast, Western, West-ern, Northwestern and Texas backstop, back-stop, has been signed by Evansville. Pete Adams, the Fort Smith first basemnn. is playing great ball for Oklahoma Okla-homa City and seems to be a real find. The western league is not the bat ters' paradise this season it used to be.
