Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. Last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Madsen and Miss Hilda Madsen attended at-tended a meeting in Manti of the executive officers of the Sanpete Chapter of the American Red Cross. The party returned home more en-thusiatic en-thusiatic over the great work than ever before and better realizing the (great amount of work yet to be done by the Red Cross. The local Eastern Star Chapter held a special meeting Saturday evening and another Monday evening for the initiation ceremonies. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to thirty guests at the close of each meeting. Miss Aileeu Ericksen of Salt Lake is visiting here with relatives. Mrs. R. F. Candland enter'ained informally Wednesday evening for Mr. and Mrs. H. LeRoy Neilson of Dayton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. M D. Seely of Chester, Idaho, Miss Ella Neilsen, Mrs. A. D. Christensen, and Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Wall. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Wall and family motored to Delta Wednesday for a few day's stay. Mrs. M. Bukoutz of Salt Lake is a guest of Miss Muriel Simpson. Miss Ella Neilson returned to Salt Lake City Friday after visiting a week with her mother and relatives in Mount Pleasant. E. S. Hinkley of Odgen visited with his son. R. H. Kiuk'ey in this City on Pioneer Day Cyril Fowels returned home from France Monday after having served in the U. S. army for the past two vears. Elder Calvin Christensen relumed relum-ed home Sunday from the Northwestern North-western states mission where he has labored during tbe past two years. Miss Louise Madsen entertained a number of friends at a slumber party Saturday evening in honor of Miss Alice Madsen of Price. The evening was spent in joy riding and dancing, after which a midnight luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Olson of Brig-ham Brig-ham City. Dr. and Mrs. Ira J. McKcll and Miss Elmira Barton of Ogden attended theh big celebration at Mrs. S. A. Barton this week Miss Sarah Barton is visiting relatives re-latives and friends at Springville an;! Spanish Fork this week. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Jensen of Axtell are visiting relatives and friends in this city. Rev. R. B. Norton leaves Monday for Kingfisher. Oklahoma, where he takes up his new work immediately. Last Friday afternoon and evening. even-ing. July 18th. the members of tbe North Ward Choir and their special guests enjoyed a splendid picnic and danre at. Fiddlers Green. About one hundred and fifty people were present. pres-ent. All those participating expressed express-ed themselves as having had a very enjoyable time. |
