Show FAIRVIEW Mervin Brady came from Myton this week to visit triends and relatives rela-tives at Fairview. Mrs. H. F. Miner of Provo is a guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bills, Sr. Floyd Young and Jack Christensen went to Salt Lake City Thursday to attend the University of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Tucker and children of Idaho are spending the week with relatives. They came to be present at the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bills. Miss Rose Pyper of Heber City is spending the week with friends at Fairview. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Rawson and daughters, Zora and Virginia, from Salt Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Allred and visited relatives here last week. ' The Misses Maud Christensen, El-va El-va Madsen, Grace Olsen and Anna Pherson go to Salt Lake City this week. They will attend school the coming year at the University of Utah. Mrs. Charles Bills of Idaho visited relatives here the past week. Mrs. Charles D. Terry and children ot Provo were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielson last week. Airs. Flavialla Smith, who visited here lately, returned to her' home at Castle Dale last Saturday. Mrs. Charley Williams and children chil-dren of Oregon were guests at the home of Mrs. Josepfi Carlston the past week. Mrs. Archie Christenson went to Salt Lakei City Thursday to take medical treatment at the hospital. Andrew Nielson, the oldest man in Fairview, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alma Miner, September Septem-ber 12. Funeral services will be held Friday. He was 92 years old. On Monday evening Miss Elva Madsen entertained a number - of friends at her home. The evening was spent in music and social chat. A dainty luncheon was served to the following: Maud Christenson Georgia Geor-gia Christenson, Ruby Graham, Elva Sorenscn, Laurel Miner, Valor Allied, All-ied, Grace Olsen, Anna Pehrson, Verona Ver-ona Cox and the hostess. Miss Valora Allred entertained the same guests as Miss Madsen on Wednesday evening. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. The party was given in honor of the girls going go-ing away to school. Miss Annabelle Pritchett entertained enter-tained at her home Tuesday evening. The evening was spent in games and dancing. An excellent supper was served to Miss Verda Cheney, Miss Orabell Hansen, Miss Calista Lassen, Mrs. Eli A. Day, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Pritchett, Jack Christenson, Floyd Young, Olof Sundwall, Lew Larsen and Arthur Peterson and the hostess. On Wednesday evening, Miss Orabell Ora-bell Hanson entertained the same guests as Miss Pritchett at a chicken sapper. The parties were given ir honor of the boys who are going away to school. A sumptuous (.inner was served under the trees on the lawn at their home. The afternoon af-ternoon was spent in music and social so-cial chat. One feature of the program pro-gram was a sketch of the lives of this worthy couple written by their son, James. They have spent most of their lives in Fairview, Mr. Bills having hav-ing been a Black Hawk War fighter, and also crossed the plains to bring immigrants to Utah. Both went through many trying times in pioneer pi-oneer life. They were each presented present-ed with a handsome gold ring by their children. They have had twelve children, ten of who are living and nine of whom were present. They have had forty-eight grandchildren, thirty-eight of whom are living, and three great-grandchildren living. |
