Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Jensen and daughters, Carrol, Frances, ami Mrs. Stedman have just returned from a trip to the mountains. They spent about a week on their summer out-ting out-ting place. C. T. Drage and family have moved into their new home on State street. Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Bradley are visiting at the ltome of Mr. and Mrs. Wlliam Olson. Miss Crystal Jensen entertained at an elaborate dinner Thursday evening even-ing in honor of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Peterson of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ed. Johnston entertained on Thursday afternoon with a delightful kensington and luncheon in honor of her birthday anniversary. A profusion pro-fusion of scarlet dahlias and golden glow were effectively used in the decorative dec-orative scheme. The guests were Mrs. C. L. Johns, Mrs. E. V. Wall, Mrs. R. li. Norton, Mrs. J. W. Cherry, Mrs. Fred Rasmussen, Mrs. Andrew Knudsen, Mrs. O. J. Harney and Mrs. J. D. Meyrick. Henry Ericksen, local butcher, has just received a line lot of mution ifrom F. C. Jensen's flocks on the range on the east mountain. They are all wethers and dressed 140 lbs. per head. This is some of the finest mutton the local butcher has ever been able to secure. Wilford C. Larsen left this week for service with the Engineers corps of the U. S. army. He has been in training at the University of Utah for the past two months. J. C. Penney of New York, Carl Malmsten of Richfield and Ronald Norman of Gunnision were Mount Pleasant business visitors this week. A new grocery man just arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johan-sen. Johan-sen. The father and mother are rejoicing re-joicing and receiving many congratulations. congratu-lations. Mrs. R. C. Larkin went to Vernal Sunday to remain while her husband is called into the service of Uncle Sam. Mr. Larkin is a mechanic and is taking training at the University of Utah. In honor of her birthday anniversary, annivers-ary, Mrs. George Sorensen entertained entertain-ed at dinner Wednesday evening. A profusion of the season's flowers were used about the rooms and on the beautifully appointed dining table which held covers for Mesdames Louisa Hasfer, Christian Johansen, Martha Barton, A. Merz, Mina Ericksen, Erick-sen, C. W. Sorensen, P. C. Lund, Erastus Monson, Sena Johansen, G. F. Bohne, Elsie Barton, Loren Stewart, Stew-art, Emil Hasler, Nephi Christensen, Andrew Sorensen, Elsie Ericksen, P. Y. Jensen, Carrie Harbroe christensen christen-sen and Clarence Oldroyd. Mrs. Sorensen was the recipient of a number num-ber of beautiful gifts and remembrances remem-brances from her many friends. Mrs. A. Crane, vice-Chairman of the local Red Cross chapter entertained enter-tained a party of young ladies at a kensington and luncheon Thursday afternoon, at which time thirty-six new stars were added to the city's service flag. The flag now has eighty-siix eighty-siix stars on it including a gold star for Private Ralph Braby. The young ladies assisting Mrs. Crane were the Misses Eleanore, Florence and Annie Clemensen, Margaret Wall, Nellie Braby, Arcilee Barnett, Goldie Neil-sen, Neil-sen, Gladys Ericksen, Melba Aldrich, Nettie Beaumann, Addie Andersen, and Mrs. E. W. Wall. |
