Show NEIGHBORHOOD N3WS Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stevens of Fair-view Fair-view have received a letter from their son Justus M. Stevens, who is with the American army in France. The contents of the letter are mostly of a personal nature to the family, and acknowledge receipt of Christmas packages and letters. He says the journey across the ocean was made without mishap, and that he is in good health and spirits. Ke also mentions meeting an old acquaintance acquaint-ance of the family, who is also among our fighting forces. Lawrence W. Larsen has returned from Mammoth and will spend the summer here at farming. Miss Fern Birch of St. Anthony, Idaho, came to M&unt Pleasant Wednesday to- be in attendance at the funeral of Elder Joseph Franklin Frank-lin Seely. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart R. Seely arrived ar-rived here Wednesday from St. Anthony An-thony to be in attendance at Elder Jeely's funeral. Mrs. W. E. Miss Ethel McCormick chaperoned a party pf girls on an Easter hike Monday to the Rainbow Fishery, where a camp breakfast and dinner were enjoyed and out-door games and sports were played. Those in the party par-ty were the Mlsse'3 Margaret Wall, Gene and Alice Kroupa, Mabel and Lillian Hall and Nettie Beaunuinn The O. S. A. club met Friday afternoon aft-ernoon with Mrs. Joseph Mouson. Fifteen members were present and spent the afternoon in needle work, rollowed by luncheon. The Home Culture club met Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. H. F. Wall, with Mrs. Wall and Mrs. John Carter as hostesses. An excellent excel-lent paper had been prepared by Mrs. C. L. Johns, "One Year of War," and Miss Margaret Thurman continued the reading of Arthur Guy Empey's book, "Over the Top." Current Events were discussed by club members mem-bers and Miss Ruth Wall played several sev-eral piano selections. Fifteen members mem-bers were present with Miss Eliza Jones, Mrs. G. O. Robinson and Miss Mary Adams as special guests. A 5 o'clock luncheon was served. Mis. Amasa Aldrich left Friday for Salt Lake for a few days' visit. Miss Melba Aldrich, who is attending the B. Y. U. in Provo, will join her mother moth-er in Salt Lake for a short vacation. . Miss Elmira Barton, who will leave soon to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Ira McKell at Ogden, was the recipient of a very successful success-ful surprise at her home Friday evening. even-ing. Miss Esther Norton entertained the Primary class of the Presbyterian Sunday school at a very delightful Easter party Saturday afternoon. Games, music and refreshments were enjoyed. The faculty and students of the N: S. H. celebrated High School day Monday with an automobile tour of the school district. Twenty automobiles automo-biles headed by the high school band left Mt. Pleasant at 10 o'clock and' during the day visited Spring City, Chester, Wales, Moroni, Fountain . Green and Fairview. In each place a demonstration of school yells, band music and speeches were the prof-ram. At noon a stop was made near (he People's Sugar factory at Moroni, Mor-oni, where a sumptuous camp dinner was enjoyed. Arrived In Fairview during the afternoon, the party were surprised by an elaborate supper prepared pre-pared by the high school students of Fairview, which was followed by a dancing party in the high school -,-ymnasium. About 150 students and teachers participated in the event. Senator John H. Seely took a car load of fine cattle to the second annual an-nual Fat Stock show which is being held at Salt Lake o;ty th,s week. A beautiful Easter luncheon was t'iven Saturday afternoon by Miss Margaret Wall for the Misses Elea-nore Elea-nore Clemensen, Mabel Hall, Arcilee Barnett, Addie Andersen, Nettie Beaumann, Beatrice Neilsen, Hessie Lo-e!l and Eva Simpson. The luncheon lunch-eon table had a centerpiece of pink and whJte carnations with candlesticks candle-sticks holding pink and white candles at each end of the table. Unique favors fa-vors and place cards w-ere used. Games and music we're enjoyed. Mrs. Ed. Johnston entertained at a delightful children's party Saturday Satur-day afternoon in honor of her little daughter Myrtle's sixth birthday anniversary. an-niversary.
