Show SPRIXG CITY Mr. and Mrs. Parley Peterson departed de-parted for Salt "Lake City the latter part of last week. It is reported that Mis. Peterson has undergone an operation op-eration at a Salt Lake hospital this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Strate departed depart-ed for Salt Lake Sunday. Mrs. Strate expects to undergo an operation before be-fore returning. Mrs. Harry Hansen and children returned home, from Price Saturday. A farewell program was given in the tabernacle Friday evening in honor of Ried H. Allred and Alexander Alexan-der Mclff. Mr. Allred is the first one called from this city on the selective sel-ective draft. It is "understood that Mr. Mclff, who" is a resident of Fair-view Fair-view received a similar call. Mr. Mclff recently married Miss Golda Covert of Spring City and was invited invit-ed to participate in the honors of the farewell program. The following program was rendered with chairman J. M. Johnson presiding: "Han Columbia," Col-umbia," Tabernacle choir; Invocation, Invoca-tion, Pres. A. Merz; Patriotic chorus, High School girls; Address, Apostle G. A. Smith of Salt Lake; patriotic piano selection, Miss Dahl; Address, Apostle A. W. Ivans of Salt Lake; Song, "Old Glory," Mrs. Billington and others. Fred Strate, In behalf of the teachers of the public and high schools, and pupils of Mr. Allred's school told of the splendid qualifications qualifica-tions of Mr. Allred as an instructor in the high school and presented htm with a soldier's traveling kit. Mr. Allred and Mr. Mclff then made a few remarks, saying that they were ready and proud to go and serve their country. Mrs. J. R. Baxter, Sr., and Mrs. M. Lund, who have ooys in the service, pinned the red white and blue emblem on the breasts of the two 'oldiers. The choir sang "The Star Spangled Banner." The benediction was offered by Supt. J. W. Anderson. The regular meeting of the Ale-tha Ale-tha club met with Mrs. Stena Strate Friday afternoon. Mrs. M. R. Strate conducted the regular lesson. Mrs. N. C. Thompron gave a reading, after which luncheon was' served by the hostess. It was decided to visit the mothers whose sons are serving the colors, and have appropriate programs. pro-grams. It is hoped to make these visits entertaining to the mothers as veil as instructive to the members of the club. Mrs. J. Morgan Johnson, the new president of the Spring City T Cross, reports the following new members: Mrs. E. A. Nlelson, Mrs. Sarah Clawson, Mrs. Grace B. All-red, All-red, Mrs. Emma B.
