Browning, president of the People's Sugar company, who is now in Chicago attending a gathering of the United States Sugar Manufacturers' Manufac-turers' association, wires the Salt Lake office of the company to the el-lect el-lect that Mr. Hoover, Federal Food Administrator, is very strongly urging urg-ing upo'.i the sugar man ulaet urers the necessiiy for a larger output of sugar for this year. As a result oi a meeting of some members oi the association and Mr. Hoover, it has been decided by the Peoples Sugar company, Utah-Idaho Sugar company, Amalgamated Sugar, company, and Layton sugar company to ply the farmers here a flat rate of $10. UO per ton for sugar beels this year, p,ovided the acreage shall oe inci eased at least 10 per cent O' er that planted last season. Farmers Farm-ers may take this $10.00 flat rate or retain their present profit sharing contract as they may wish.
