Show PROMISES iipilE 1. The Democrats promised to reduce taxes. 2. They promised to reduce the number of office holders 3. They promised economy in the conduct of affairs. 4. They promised to reduce the indebtedness of the State. 5. They promised efficiency and a business administration. 6. They promised to keep us out of war. 7. And now they promise to keep oait of war forevermore if we will only vote for the League of Nations. 8. And now comes Cox and lauds the Mormon people. j . 9. They prate about prohibition. prohi-bition. 10. They rant about the heart of the world and what we owe the other fellow. 1. In 1920 they increased them .. 41.3 per cent over 1919. 2. They increased the offices and multiplied the office holders. hol-ders. There was no need of that except to give hungry, deservivg democrats an office 3. There never was such extravagance, ex-travagance, such wicked waste in all history of this land. 4. They have heaped up bonded bond-ed indebtedness to such an extent that taxe s must be high for a generation to pay even the interest. I 5. They bought the bonds of the town of Orem at par and sold State Road bonds at 85 cents on the dollar. 6. They .'knew, the leaders did, that even then, right under un-der our noses Germany was making war on us. 7. A lot of 'leading Democrats of the Nation say it will keep us in war.that it will set up a government in Europe to order into war whenever they see fit. 8. But for months his paper, the Dayton News 'abused the Mormons and accused them of treason, a Mormon missionary mis-sionary who lives in Washington Wash-ington County says: "The Dayton News carried several articles that were a tirade of abuse and a monument monu-ment of injustice to the Mor- t mon people and their repre- 1 sentatives. I went personally person-ally to the editor and asked for the privilege of replying. He flatly refused to grant permission, per-mission, and gave me more a buse than I have received since that time. Some time later I called; on him again with the same result. 9. And the head of the liquor dealers trust sends out letters let-ters asking for funds saying we must elect Cox. 10. All for the purpose of keeping you from thinking about their bhinders, mis takes and broken promises. |
