The majority of persons would he far better physically and mentally on two meals daily than on three. The stomach works best while the body is resting; hence it is better to eat the hearty meal at night. Bronchial asthma is largely a food disease. It is caused principally by the fermentation and putrefaction of unused, undigested food in the stomach stom-ach and intestine. The term "brain foods" is a misnomer. mis-nomer. The brain does not require any special nutritive elements; foods which nourish the balance of the body, feed the brain as well. The principal causes for the universal uni-versal disorder, constipation, is eating eat-ing too much heavy food, such as bread, meat, potatoes and sweets and not sufficient vegetables and fruits. Work doesn't take the place of systematic exercise. Ten minutes calisthenics night and morning not only assist the muscles to recuperate from work, but it actually increases their power to work. Too much acid in the diet oftc. leads eventually to gouty rheumatism. rheuma-tism. This means we should avoid the constant use of any considerable amount of vinegar, lemon juice and decidedly acid fruits. A tepid sponge bath is followed by an increase in the blood of the 'police 'po-lice cells,' those which capture and destroy the various disease produc-ting produc-ting germs that chance to gain entrance en-trance into the body. |
