Show WHO ARE THE BOOSTERS? Every town has its boosters and Its knockers. No community is ever i found without them. Wo have n healthy respect and a' profound admiration for the booster, but our opinion of the chronic knocker knock-er would be unprintable. Why can't we all be bosters In .Mount Pleasant? Why have any knockers at all? And thi't brings a question to our minds. Who are the boosters in Ml. Pleasant? Who are the men and women who always have a good word i'or it? Who are the ones who always speak well of its people and of its past ci oiiiplklhments, and of its prospects pros-pects for the future? We would like nothing better than .o have a vote taken by the whole population, with each citizen naming .hose he or she considers to be bos-.ers. bos-.ers. And then we would like to publish pub-lish the names of the boosters in the Pyramid, and hold them up to the public as jst what they are our most pogressive citizens. When you have a little spare time suppose you just Bit down and write out the names of fifty people men or women who In your Judgement are the greatest boosters for our town. It will give you quite an iu-iight iu-iight into the characters of many people, peo-ple, for it will cause you to weigh iiieir good qualities with their bad ones, their virtues with their vices, and their progressiveness with their slumbers. You might tell your friends what you are doing and ask them to do .be same, and then all of yoa could hand your lists of fifty in at the Pyramid Pyr-amid otlice and we could tabulate them and announce the result la these columns. i It would be a deserved recognition of the sterling qualities of the boos- tors of the fifty GKKATKST boosters boos-ters and it might even spur others up to the point of hustling for our iown and climbing Into the booster "agon. It might even start" you to .UO lllg. Who are the boosters, anyway? |
