No Question of Tense. A young woman whose husband i3 on the stock exchange recently awakened awak-ened to the fact that he was quite sportily inclined. One evening the professor's wife, who lived quite near, i , ran in to make a -call. During the call the young wife of the stockbroker remarked, rather plaintively: "I wish I knew where Jack was!" "I presume, dear," said the professor's profes-sor's wife primly, "you mean you wish, you knew where he is?" "Oh, no, I don't," replied the young wife. "I know where he is. He is upstairs in bed with terribly bloodshot blood-shot eyes and a raving headache. I want to know where he was!"
