Show THE LOCAL PAPET The late United States Senator Sena-tor Davis cf Illinois, in speaking of a newspaper's value to a community, com-munity, made these truthful remarks: "Every year each local paper gives from 200 to $1,000. in free lines to the city in which it is located in boosting, praising prais-ing and for lodges, churches, schools and societies. No other agency can or will do this. The editor in proportion to his means, does more for his town and should be supported, not because a local paper is the best investment a commuity can make. To day the local papers are doing more for less pay than anything on earth and it's a fact in many cases of free notices, announcements, etc., v they are not fully appreciated for what they do. |
