Show Increasing Demand For Books at Public Library The free public library has been open, about four months and has met witn success far beyond the expectation oi those who have been instrumental establishing and maintaining main-taining it. Through the efforts of these ladies the sum of $85.00 has been made thru benefits and contribution from the city, and another $40.00 has bee donated by them personally to keep il open and provide new books, but the demand for books is so great th -i t numerous names are on the waiting list for books that are out and the supply of literature for children must be increased. There have been over 700 books read since the library hs been epened, and many more would have been taken had there been more suitable ones op hand. A very fine list of books has been made out, and the committee is very desirous of placing the popular magazines and some of the new books as well as those for children in the liBrary. In order to meet this extra expense an appeal is made to all who are interested in this cause to assist by contibuting as much as they desire towards i t. These contributions will be re ceived by the following ladies; Miss Marian Larsen librarian, Mrs. A. D. Sutton, Miss Winnifred Jensen, Mrs. F. Erickson, Mrs. O. F. Wall and Mrs. R. L. Madsen The Library is open from 3 p m to 5pm and 7pm to 9:30 p m every dav except on Wednesday and Sun day. |
