A device that provides artificial stems for flowers has been patented by a New York woman. A long narrow nar-row strip of metal is bent to form a groove and has several loops along its surface. These loops are designed to encircle the real stem of the flower and hold that stem in the groove. The flower, therefore, is provided with a perfectly firm support, so that it will stand erect in vase or bouquet or in whatever form it is arranged.
