A social wave seems to have struck IFairview dol ing the past week as there have been parties nearly ev-jery ev-jery night. Espeeiady among the married people. Mr. and Mrs. E. , H. Anderson entertained a large j number of friends Feb. 8th. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Cox gave a party to .friends Feb. the 9th and Mr. and jMrs. Samuel D. Bills Kave one on the 10 of February at each place a good time was had. On Saturday ! evening a party was given at the home of Mrs. Jas. P. Larsen the evening ev-ening was spent in games, song and music. Dainty refreshments were served. About thirty-five persons were present. On the evening of Feb. 9th, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Norman entertained forty-five of their friends at a house party. A pleasant evening was spent in games, song and social chat. A dainty luncheon was served. The social event of the week was a party given by the choir in honor of our worthy Bishop, Jas. C. Peterson, at his home Tuesday evening. An informal meeting was held, in which an excellent program of songs and speeches were given; also the Bishop was presented with a handsome gold watch and chain as a token of respect from the choir.- He has served as bishop of our ward for twenty-three years, as a faithful shepher i to his flock.' A delicious luncheon was served to more thansixtv persons. On the evening of Feb. 9th, a birthday birth-day party was given at the home of N. B. Pritchett in honor of Irs daughter daugh-ter Birdell; a supper was seivedto eight couples, after which the evening even-ing was spent in games and music. Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Stevens will celebrate their golden wedding on Feb. 17th. Peter Peterson. John A. Anderson and Mrs. Lois Tucker went to Provo last week to attend the funeral of Otis A. Terry, son of Chas. Terry. Oatie, as he was familiarly called, has been a patient sufferer for a number of years. He leaves a wife and several sev-eral sma'I children. Ruby, the eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Brady, died Feb. 8th of heart failure. Her lather lath-er is out on the desert and they are awaiting his return before holding the funeral. They have the sympathy sympa-thy of thr- community. The three-months old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barker, died Feb. 10th and funeral services were held on Fet. 12th. Mrs. Henry Poulsen of Richfield is spending the week with her mother, Mrs. James C. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Swen O. Nielson are Salt Lake visiters this week. Miss Ruby Lindquist of Salt Lake is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. Sarah E. Fowles and is visiting relatives. Lawrence Christoperson, who is attending at-tending the U. of U. came out with the rabbit hunters Sunday and spent the day with friends. Ira Cox, who has spent the past twenty-seven months in the missionary mission-ary field, returned home this week. Elder Cox labored in the New England Eng-land States and Maryland. Frank Cox, formerly of Milburn, has lately purchased the residence of Amasa Davidsen, in Fairvievv. Born, to the wife of Orrin Barker, Feb. 10th, a boy.
