Show LARGE ATTENDANCE AT " REGULAR CONFERENCE Regular quarterly conference was held at Mount Pleasant last Saturday and Sunday at the Assembly Hall. Priesthood meeting convened at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. Missionaries' Miss-ionaries' were called to perform labors la-bors in the stake and instructions were given to them. The first general meeting was held at 10:30 a. m. The opening song was "Come Come, Ye Saints." Prayer Pray-er was offered by Bishop James Lar-sen. Lar-sen. Following the hymn "High on the Mountain Tops" Pres Merz welcomed wel-comed the saints and expressed much pleasure in seeing so many at the conference. con-ference. Pres. Lund addressed the congregation and expressed his appreciation ap-preciation of the kindness and assistance assist-ance given him by the people of this stake rVjring his recent illness. Pres. Rasmussen presented the business of the meeting and Pres. Anderson gave the reports. At the afternoon meeting a very-large very-large number of people were in attendance. at-tendance. Pres. Merz reported that on account of the death of a relative John W. Ivans did not come. Elder J. Golden Kimball and three ladies of the general boards of Relief Society Socie-ty and Primary were in attendance. Leander Thompson gave a solo in the afternoon meeting. "" Elder Kimball was the principal speaker and took for his subject, '"The other side of the question" In his remarks he stated that the man who keeps his house in order is a great general and he also said that the Relief Society was a big thing in that its aim is to relieve suffering soals. Sunday morning Sister Ross spoke of the little boys and girls in the deaf and dumb school at Ogden and also the Sunday School work. Pres. C. N. Lund spoke of the principals of the Gospel of Christ as being eternal. The Fairview choir furnished music. Elder Kimball also spoke at this meeting. Sunday afterjioon the Spring City choir furnished the music. The general gen-eral and local aiuthorities were sustained sus-tained by the saints. Elders J. W. Anderson and J. Golden Kimball were the speakers. The conference was as well attended attend-ed as any previous one held for some . time. ' |
