Morgan in his home near Glen Cove, on July 3. committed suicide in the jail here Tuesday uight. While several of the jail author! ties declared that Holt killed himself by climbing through the opening at the top of his cell door and then plunging to the narrow court below Holt's keeper said he was positive that the prisoner was killed in his own cell, where he aid he found the body. There were many conflicting re ports as to the manner in which Holt met his death, but It was definitely established through Dr. ("leghorn, the Jail physician, that Holt di"d ot a fractured skull. Keeper O'Kyan declared that Holt appeared unusually cheerful early In the evening. He couldn't understand why Holt should write a letter which w.is found after his death, in which Holt addres-ed presumably his wife and children as follows: "My I iia: s I must writ" to you once more.
