Show BIG CELEBRATION HELD AT FA1RVIEW The celebration of Independence Day was quite a success. The Brass Band and the choir serenaded the town during the early morning hours. People were awakened by the booming boom-ing of guns and cannon.. The flag was hoisted at sunrise with a grand salute. The following program was given at the L. D. S. Chapel at 10-. 30 o'clock: Overture: Band. Singing: "The Star Spangled Banner," Ban-ner," choir. Invocation: Chaplain, James Anderson, An-derson, Sr. Solo: Jess Young. Speech: Goddess, Miss Orabell Hansen. Han-sen. Response: Master of Ceremonies, Merlin Madseu. Overture: Band. Piano Duet: Dot Christensen and Agatha Larsen. - Oration: Orator of the day, Tim Fowles. Song: Rowena Day. Overture: Band. A childrens' dance waB given ai 1 o'clock. Games and sports, horse races, etc., in the City Park. A ball game between Salt Lake players and our home team was played at four o'clock. In the evening an open air concert was given by the band and sev Jral choruses by the Bee-Hive girls. The day's sport concluded with a grand ball at the Eclipse Pavilion. Pa-vilion. : |
