Show Large Game Sent to Utah by Government "On Friday March 7th a car of Elk passed through Mt.: Pleasant en route to fcalina where they were to be placed with the Elk which were taken ' .ere last season. The El were sent here under the direction of the State Game Warden Fred Chambers. District Game Warden War-den Byron Hanchett of Annabella who is Warden over the 5th district was in charge of the car while the Elk were being transported from Jackson's Hole, Wyoming to Salina. Tnere were twenty-five head, five males and twenty females. Latt year there were nine taken to the place selected Lear Salina for the Elk and now they have increased making a total ot eleven in the flock. They expect a greater increase from now on. Ibis second lot oi twtmy five will te put into the same field with the others and kept until the game wardens see fit to turn them on the range, Tncy will be protected by the law for about ten years before any will be permitted to be killed. The government gov-ernment has seen fit to prottct the lai ger game before it nas become too late and lor this ivason the Elk are being placed in this state o tha(. they may Le rtaied on the mountain slopes arjfl perpetuate their species, ii this section of the country. There will be another car load of j Elk brought to a place near Nebo ; sometime during this week and placed somewhere on the range over there, Thiy will also be protected so. their numbers may swell and in-crease'aiid in-crease'aiid till the (nountains with 1 n ger game in the futiuv..
