Show Democrats Propose Citizens' Ticket A large number of the leading Democrats of Mount Pleasant met at the City Hall last Wednesday evening for the purpose of making arrangements for the coming City election. Considerable talk and discussion dis-cussion had been made during the past week relative to placing a Citizens' ticket in the field. The subject was taken up at the meeting and the majority of the members of the party present voted to have a committee appointed to wait upon the Republican City Chairman and j ascertain what could be done in that i direction. City Attorney George I Christensen and Mayor James W. Anderson were appointed by the 1meeting as a committee to meet with the Republican party leader. After meeting with Chairman S. E. Jensen and two other members of the committee the report was made that personally the gentlemen would be in favor of such a movement, move-ment, bnt were not in a position at the time to speak for the party without with-out confering with other members of the committee. The meeting was adjourned pending pend-ing a final report and decision of the Republican City Committee. |
