Show Waldemar's E. M. F. "30" Makes Steep Climb To Gooseberry J. C. Barton, Harry Ericksen, Frank Waldemar, and Earl Seely, chaperoned by Assistant Society Editor Ed-itor Richardson of the Pyramid, composed com-posed a party of fisherman which went to Gooseberry last Sunday in an automobile an E. M. V. "W with Chauffeur Frank Waldemar at the throttle. There had been som talk of la'e to the effect that it would be impossible impos-sible for an automobile to make the steep climb from Fairview to the top of the range, and on Saturday last, it was decided that the party would at least try to make the trip and shortly after daylight the start was made. From Fairview to the top of the mountain is an exceptionally st3ep and rocky road, but although the machine was stranded two or three times on account of high rock-5 in the middle of the road, the trip was a grand success Upon arrival at the resevoir, an i elaborate breakfast was partaken of ' at the hotel De Christensen, after which all me mbers of the party proceeded pro-ceeded to prepare their tackle for the jpeckled beauties. After lishing about five hours, the anglers returned return-ed to the hotel with their splendid day's catch 16(3) nice trout and then proceeded to pack up for the return trip. The only difficulty experienced ex-perienced coming down the mountain moun-tain was that the brake shoes got hot and one stop of about five minutes min-utes was made to cool these down. Upon arrival at Mt. Pleasant, the various members of the party proceeded pro-ceeded to distribute the trout among ' the many persons wnom they had 1 promised a mess. |
