Show I Bot& 1 Presbyterian Church Rev. John Meeker, Paster of the Presbyterian church, deviated slightly slight-ly from his regular program last Sunday Sun-day evening and took up the political politi-cal subject for his lecture, feeling assured that it would not be out of place, since the election was over. T He looks with a considerable degree of pride upon the fact that he was, at one time a student of Princeton 1 University and that he was personal- j ly acquainted with Woodrow Wilson, -having been a student in some of his -classes. The services of Rev. Meeker were very interesting and timely. Conjoint Session. A most interesting program was given in Conjoint Session of the Mutual Mut-ual Improvement Association of both -wards last Sunday evening at the South Ward Chapel. After the reg- 5 ular opening exercises were carried out, Anna Rolph sang a vocal solo entitled, "The Bridge." J. M. Boy- t den, musical director of the North . Sanpete High School rendered a flute c solo, which was very much appreci- I ated. A reading was given by Miss Cassie Rasmussen. The address was given by Dr. L. H. Robison. Mr. Robison took for his subject, Tobacco, Alcohol, Tea and Coffee. ; He showed very plainly what the ( effects would be upon the heart of anyone who became addicted to the habbit of using either of the above named articles. And also stated t other effects which it made upon the mind and the different parts of the body. Relief Society Conference ' A very successful and interesting j conference of the LaaMes Relief Soci- i ety was held at Fairvdew last Satur- i day, November 9th. Even though , the roads were in a bad condition on , account of the recent storms, there ' were forty-four members and offi- ' cers from the different, wards in the " stake who attended. Dr. J. C. Stocks gave a very time- ly and important lecture upon the subject of "Health." Mrs. Matilda ; Peterson read a paper of the "Coming "Com-ing Forth of the Book of Mormon." Mrs. Emma E. Anderson sang a solo. , A paper entitled "'Saving Utah's Crop," was given by Mrs. F. 0. Lar- ; sen of Spring City. Song by Almeda Stewart of Milburn. Mrs. George ; Christensen gave a paper entitled, "Amusement in the Home." Song by Rebecca Sagg. Mrs. -.L. C. Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen gave a report of the General Conference Con-ference held at Sal C .Lake City and Pres. C. N.
