It will be the first match game for the North Sanpete High SchooJ boys, and they are determined deter-mined to make the game very interesting inter-esting with the hopes of winning the day. There will be a series of five games between the two local schools before the season is gone. Nexc Friday the Wasatch team will meet the Carbon County High School team at the Mt. Pleasant City Park, and promise to play one uf the most interesting games of the season? other gnme, by putting every muscle under dii ect control of the mind. In oider for a student to participate in fooiball he must p'.-acfice moderation moder-ation in every phase of life, ho must not use stimulating or intoxicating drinks, tobacco in any form or overtax over-tax his digestive organs with indigestible, indi-gestible, unheakhful foods. He must tie systematic in work and sleep, conserve con-serve the power of concentration and relaxation at all times From this it can be seen that football tends not only to develop the higher or superficial superfi-cial morals of the player such. as ab-stinance ab-stinance from the use of tobacco and liquor, but also eliminates one of the most immoral traits of human beings that of improper and over-eating. That it develops the physical man to almost perfection and that a strong physique is the best possible foundation for a strong and active mind is an undisputed fact. It also gives the boys something to do, it takes up a good deal of their spare time and energy, which, if left unused, un-used, might be put to a far worse use; for a everyone knows, in a small town there are very few amusements amuse-ments which can be recommended. It is thought by people that Foot-bail Foot-bail takes up nearly a'l the boys time but this is not so, because for a student stu-dent to participate in the sport he must be carrying a reasonable amount of work and must be doing work of a passing grade. Prof. Cummings was here last Friday and gave a lecture to the class in arcnaeology and in the evening even-ing he gave- an illustrated lecture at the Melba. At the clo.se of the party they even had an Indian War dance, which hadn't been1 taught by Miss Ryan. Refreshments were served in a very original style. If Miss Havenor couid have seen it, she would have thought all her efforts and talking about s.-rving had been in vain. All the girls report it the very best party ever attended. Last Friday afternoon the Fairview students petitioned the High School Board that the wagon used to transport trans-port them and. the money used (be given them to apply on their board bill. Their request was granted and the wagon is not in use at present. Thursday morning the students all had their pictures taken.
