Show SEVERELY BURNED BY POWDER. V James F., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Jordan, was severely burned last Saturday evening by a powder explosion. ex-plosion. James in company with his brother, Peter, decided to scare the family cat by placing a quantity of b'ack powder in a tobacco can. A piece of paper was inserted in the can and a match applied. Some time elapsed before the flame reached the powder, James becoming anxious stooped to look into the can just as the explosion occurred, receiving the full charge in the forehead and eyes. He was taken at once to the Winters hospital where his wounds were dressed, and he is improving nicely. It seems an act of Providence that his eyesight was spared, |
