Service, are enjoying their furloughs visiting relatives and friends this week at Moroni. Mrs. Cleon Anderson is visiting ! with relatives and friends in Salt Lake City this week. Mr. and Mrs. Gaynor Sorenson left for Salt Lake City on Tuesday Tues-day where he plans to undergo an operation on his eyes. Everyone Every-one is wishing him a speedy recovery. re-covery. The Moroni Stake Quarterly conference which was held in the West ward chapel last Sunday, was well attended. Those representing repre-senting the General Church Authorities Au-thorities were Elder Stephen L. iCichards of the Council of the Twelve, and Patriarch Jospeh Smith, both of whom gave most timely advice and instructions. The conference was concluded with a cantata, "His Natal Day," by the Fountain Green choir on Sunday evening, which was also enjoyed greatly by all present. The program consisted of "Ring Bells of Gladness' by the choir." "Prepare Ye The Way," given by a Bass Chorus. "Hark! What Mean Those Holy Voices," by Women's Wo-men's Double Trio; "He Shall Be Great," by the choir; "Softly the Night is Fallen," with solo part by Olena L. Johnson, and the Choir; "We Come to Worship Him," with solo by Aden Johnson and the Men's Chorus; "O Little Town of Bethlehem," with solo by Beatrice Yorgasen and the choir; "Sleep, Holy Child," duet by Beatrice Yorgasen and Oleta Bailey; "Hail to the Lord's An-nointed," An-nointed," by the choir; "Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne" by Velda Jackson; "Hear the Joy-bells Joy-bells Ring," with duet by Olena Johnson and Velda Jackson and the choir; ""My Soul Doth Magnify Mag-nify the Lord," the Finale. Members of the above choir were Olena Johnson, Beatrice xorgason, cieo Johnson, Pearl Holman, Indra Johnson, Rowena Allred, Euleda Cook, Enid Nielson, Niel-son, Velda Jackson, Oleta Bailey, Francell Hansen, LaVon Cooms, Geraldine Johnson, Aden Johnson, John-son, William Collard, Phares L. Nielson, Urban S.' Madsen, De Vere Johnson, Ivan Bailey, Lynn Oldroyd and Clair Collard. Mrs. Josiah Blackham met with an accident Tuesday when she fell and received a broken wrist. She is reported to be slowly improving im-proving at this time. -,Mr. Arid Mrs Urvjr - Gee. received re-ceived 'word Monday evening fnar daughter, Mrs. Ronald Frandsen of Provo, Utah was ill and had been operated on, but is slowly improving. She is at the Utah Valley hospital at Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Westen-skow Westen-skow attended funeral services last Thursday fo his father, Mr. N. P. Westenskow of Manti, U-tah. U-tah. Other family members who attended at-tended the funeral serivces of Mr. Westenskow were Mrs. Lewis Lew-is Blackham, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Blackham, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blackham, and a number of people peo-ple from Moroni who are friends of the family. N. P. Westenskow Passes N. P. Westenskow, 72, of Manti, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Romania W. Bird, Delta, Sunday at 8 a. m. of natural causes incident to age. He was born in Manti, March 18, 1872, a son of Peter and Dorothea Doro-thea Westenskow. He was active in Church and Civic affairs and had fulfilled a mission in New Zealand for three years. He was director and chorister of Manti South Ward several years. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Frances Bench Westenskow, whom he married in the Manti Temple Oct. 28, 1896; four daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Romania Bird and Mrs. Marjorie Gardner, Delta; Mrs. Maurine Mellor, Fayette, and Miss Fern Westenskow, Salt Lake; two sons, Eldon Westenskow, Westen-skow, Moroni, and Owen Westenskow, Westen-skow, Brigham City; four sisters, Mrs. Julius Jensen and Mrs. Dorothy Doro-thy Keller, Manti; Mrs. Jennie Alden, Logan, and Mrs. Mary Kasmussen, balma; two brothers, broth-ers, Jule Westenskow, Gunnison, and Andrew Westenskow of U tah; also 10 grandchildren. The season's run at the Moroni Turkey Plant was completed Tuesday, February 15th with a most successful accomplishment. It will take a number of days for cleaning up process to put the plant in order for the shut down season. The Turkey men are pleased with the turn-out of of workers this season. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Blackham spent a few days in Salt Lake City this week. Heber Christensen received an announcement this week of the birth of his first great grandchild, a daughter, which was born to ; Mr. and Mrs. Osborne Scott She-! ton of Salt Lake City on Feb. 7th. j The mother is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Izaats. Thelma Anderson; Presentation of Ward Scroll by Florence Little; Presentation of Corsages, by Carmen Car-men Blackham; Tying of Ward Sheaf, by Bishop B. A. Child; and Gleaner Adviser, Rula Lamb. The local Lions club entertained enter-tained their wives at dinner and an evening of music and games Friday at the high school building. build-ing. A three course dinner was served at 8 p. m.
