Show I . FAIRVIEW i By Special Correspondence I Dedicatory Service at Milburn Dedicatory services for the new Milburn L D S Ward chapel were conducted Sunday evening, Feb. 13th at Milburn. Albert E. Bowen, member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, was in attendance and offered the dedicatory prayer. The followoing program was given: giv-en: The opening song, "We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet," Proph-et," was sung by the congregation. congrega-tion. Prayer was offered by Wil-ford Wil-ford Jensen; a trio, "Bless This House," was sung by Elva Hamilton, Ham-ilton, Mable Peterson and Mait-land Mait-land Graham; speakers for the Service, besides Apostle Bowen, were H. C. Jacobs, President of the North Sanpete Stake, E. H. Anderson and Bishop Loyal Graham, Amasa Terry and Wil-ford Wil-ford Jensen, the Ward Bishopric whose leadership the chapel was built; a duet, "The Lord's Prayer was sung by Miss Olive Stewart; Miss Wynelle Stewart and Miss Barbara Rasmussen of Price, U-tah. U-tah. The closing song, "Till We Meet Again," was sung by the congregation. Closing prayer was given by Amasa Terry. The new chapel has been erected during the past two years at a cost of $6,300. The building was completed com-pleted mostly by combined efforts ef-forts of the ward members, who donated time, labor and money. There are 108 members in the Milburn ward. Marriage Announced Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Terry announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Verlee Terry to Mr. Jay N. Thorpe of the U. S. Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Thorpe of Springville, Utah. Their marriage took place in the Salt Lake City L D S temple on Friday, Fri-day, Feb. 11th. Mr. Thorpe joined the Navy three years ago and has seen much active duty. He is home on leave for a short time from Norfolk, Nor-folk, Virginia where he has been attending the Naval School. The Bride also just returned home from Virginia where she has spent the past four months. A wedding reception will be held at the Fairview North Ward chapel Friday evening, February 18th in honor of the young couple. cou-ple. Mr. Ross T. Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielson and Miss Carma Peterson of Blackfoot, Idaho Ida-ho were maried in the Salt Lake City L D S temple Thijrsry nSg. ThH' Bridegroom" has been attending the Brigham Young University after returning home from fulfilling a mission for the L D S church. The "North Bend" Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold a Leap Year Dance Monday evening. Feb. 28th in the South Ward chapel. Everyone is supposed to come in costumes. Mr. Charles Tanner of Silver Star, Montana is visiting with his brother, Mr. Myron Tanner and family at Fairivew. The Priests Quorum of the North Ward and their Partners held a Banquet and Party in the North Ward chapel Wednesday evening. The Priests Quorum of the South ward and their Part ners were also invited. A Banquet Ban-quet was held at eight o'clock and the rest of the evening was spent in playing games and dancing. Mr. Arthur Tucker, who is leaving leav-ing to be a Radio announcer at KOVO Radio Station at Provo, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Valten Tucker over the week end. Mr. Paul Sutton and brother, Dick Sutton of Clear Creek were visitors in Fairview during the week end. Mrs. Minerva Vance entertained enter-tained her five sisters at a delicious delici-ous hot dinner Friday afternoon. The time was spent in quilting a beautiful quilt. Mrs. Vance's sisters are Mrs. Amelia Bills, Mrs. Hannah Tucker, Mrs. Linda Sanders, Sand-ers, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, and Mrg. Ellen Turpin, who were all preser and had a most enjoyable en-joyable time together. Mrs. Alice Nelson celebrated her birthday anniversary at her home Monday evening. A delicious deli-cious hot dinner was served to a number of relatives and friends of the family. Many friends and relatives of Mrs. P. M. Peterson called on her Monday afternoon and evening, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. A delicious . hot chicken dinner was served to all her friends and relatives 'who called on her to wish her many , happy returns of the day. Every ' one enjoyed a most pleasant time. Mrs. Ettie Stevens returned to her home at Murray, Utah after spending xo months visiting ; with relatives and friends at Fairview. i Little Donna K. Rosenlund, . four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rosenlund, suffered severe head lacerations across the scalp and hands last Saturday Satur-day while enroute to Salt Lake City witli her parents, when the car door came open and the little girl fell to the highway. She was taken to a Doctor at American Fork where examinations showed no fractures. Mr. and Mrs. Rosenlund Rosen-lund were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Mower to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Sceverenia Anderson accompanied ac-companied her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Gardner and two children to New Mexico last week where they will go to visit with Mrs. Gardner's husband, Private Dean Gardner, who is stationed in New Mexico. Mrs. Louise Cox is visiting in Ogden with her children, whe are living there.
