Show Fairview Keith Hansen Is Candidate For Mayor's Office A Democratic rally was held Wednesday evening in the Fair-view Fair-view city hall. Candidates nominated to run for offices on the Democrat ticket are: Keith Hansen, mayor; Albert Madsen, 4-year councilman; Don Cox, Rodney Nelson and Wendell Christensen were nominated for 2 year councilman; Dae Coons, city recorder; Ransom Stevens, city treasurer. Fairview Sailor Is Home For Nineteen Day Leave R. D. Mower, Quartermaste" Third Class, of Fairview, is home on a nineteen day leave from the U. S. Navy. Mower enlisted in Salt Lake City about two and one half years go and received recruit training at San D.ego, California. Since that time he has served on board the U. S. S. Pensacola, U.S.S. Rockingham, U.S.S. George Clymer and at present is serving serv-ing on board one of the Navy's finest cruisers, the U.S.S. Columbus. Colum-bus. Great-Grandchild For Bills Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bills announce an-nounce the arrival of their first great-grandchild, a son born to Byron and Luana Wilcox Thulin. Mrs. Thulin is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilcox of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Bills visited visit-ed her new grandson last week. While in Salt Lake City she attended at-tended the baby's blessing and also part of the L. D. S. conference. confer-ence. She returned home on October 5th accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilcox, who remained in Fairview until Monday. Mon-day. The new baby was given the name Jerrold Byron Thulin. 'A member of the younger generation gen-eration who celebrated a birth- I day during the past week was Katherine Peterson who invited friends for a Monday afternoon party at her home in honor of her eighth birthday. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by the 25 guests present. Katherine Kather-ine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Peterson. Miriam Carlston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Carlston, was honored by a party given by her mother Monday afternoon. The 16 guests present enjoyed refreshments re-freshments and a picture show shown by Miriam's brother Paul. Some of the pictures shown were of the same children present. pres-ent. They were taken a year ago at Miriam's birthday party. Miriam was five years old this year. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Graham of Salt Lake City were weekend 'guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Peterson have been notified that their son Lewis, who Is attending the I University of Utah, has been awarded a special scholarship to that University. Mr. Fred Christiansen was a Provo visitor last week at the home of her daughter Mrs. John !M. Madsen and family. Arthur, formerly of Fair-view, Fair-view, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Valton Tucker, is now program director for radio station KSVC at Richfield. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Pack of Salt Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Valton Tucket last weekend. Word has been received by her brother in Fairview that Mrs. Clarissa Davidson of Hen- I derson, Nevada, former'y of I Mt. Pleasant, had undergone a major operation on September 1 30th and is in a serious con- dition. i I Mrs. Gomer Llewellyn entertained enter-tained last Thursday in honor of her son Gomer Lynn's fifth birthday.
