Show The Church Corner. . . South Sanpete Men To Speak At North Ward T. L. Thompson of Ephraim, school teacher and former member mem-ber of the stake presidency, will be the speaker at the Mt. Pleasant North Ward sacrament meeting Sunday evening, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p. m. Willis Olsen, soloist, will render ren-der two musical numbers. Short addresses will be given by Joyce Stansfield and Norma Peterson, representing fhe L. D. S. girls' program. A cordial invitation in-vitation is extended to all to attend, according to the Bishopric Bish-opric of the ward. Academy Couple Will Attend Mission Meet At Los Angeles Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Newhouse will leave Mt. Pleasant today (Friday) for a two week stay in Los Angeles, during which Mr. Newhouse will make the principle prin-ciple address at a Presbyterian church anniversary observance. His address will be delivered to celebrants attending the Im-manuel Im-manuel Presbyterian church's 60th anniversary of the founding found-ing of the organization's missionary mis-sionary society. Both Mr. and Mrs. Newhouse have spent long years in Africa as representatives of the California Califor-nia society, Mr. Newhouse coming com-ing to Mt. Pleasant only last June after putting in a three-year three-year stint in the African back country. Mrs. Newhouse has been schol nurse at the Academy. Mrs. Newhouse's father, the late Dr. Silas K. Johnson, was the first medical missionary to labor in the interior of Africa. He was also affiliated with the Immanuel church missionary society. Students Participate In Presbyterian Services Morning Worship Services will bo conducted at 11:00 a. m. at the First Presbyterian Church Sunday. Rev. Erwin E. Bolling:r will speak on the theme "The Hurdle of Prejudice." The Wasatch Academy Gospel Teams will meet in the sanctuary sanctu-ary for a period of rehearsal following fol-lowing the worship service. The Junior High Westminster Felowship will be directed by President Danny Brooks. Miss Mary Jensen will lead the discussion dis-cussion topic "The Mors We Get Together." Activities of the Senior Westminster West-minster Fellowship wil be directed di-rected by President Freddie Dart. Folk songs of all nations will he sung during the Singspiration time. Thursday evening, October 14, the Midweek Meditation program will be directed by Miss Lona Rives, a faculty member at Wasatch Wa-satch Academy. MIA Lists Program For South Ward Session Program for next Tuesday's South Ward MIA meeting was announced this week by officers. offi-cers. Th? session will be opened with community singing, conducted con-ducted by Opal Scoville. An instrumental solo will be played by John K. Mitchell, and a vocal duet will be sung by Janet Burn-side Burn-side and Patsy Birtzel. Joan Johnson will give a reading read-ing and the theme wil be presented pre-sented by Ona Loy Peterson. Opening prayer will be given by Jerry Ray Johansen, and Dick Allred will offer the closing prayer. |
