Show Civil Sevice Sets Examinations Soon An examination for proba-tional proba-tional (permanent) appointment to the position of Junior Professional Pro-fessional Assistant in the fol-1 lowing optional fields: Admini-istrative Admini-istrative Technician, Economist, Legal Assistant, Mathematician, Metallurgist, and Statistician, was announced this week by C. L. Edwards, Regional Civil Service Serv-ice Director, Thirteenth U. S. Civil Service Region. Pleasant, Utah. i Applicants applying for this ' examination may choose one or more options from among the following optional fields: Administrative Ad-ministrative Technician, Economist, Econo-mist, Legal Assistant, Mathematician, Mathema-tician, Metallurgist, and Statistician. Statis-tician. Persons appointed from the examination will assist in the performance of professional and technical work. The entrance en-trance salary is S2.644 a year for a 40-hour work-week. The age limits, 18 to 35, are waived for persons entitled to veterans preference. All applicants must take a written test and in addition they i must have had either a full four-year college course with major study in subjects appropriate appro-priate to the field for which they are applying, or a combination of appropriate education and experience ex-perience which totals four years and gives them the substantial equivalent of the four year college col-lege course. However, applications applica-tions will be accepted from students who are otherwise qualified and who expect to complete all the courses required re-quired for qualification in their optional field by September 30, 194S.
