Show 1 1 MORONI I By Special Correspondence Mrs. Flora Arnoldsen, Mrs. Deneice Blackham and Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Anderson were hostesses at a party on Monday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Warner, War-ner, who are moving to Spanish Fork this week. Their husbands were also invited and they all met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Anderson where a delicious hot dinner was served after which they motored to Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant where they enjoyed a picture show. Mr. and Mrs. Warner have been living here for the past year where he has been employed by the Telluride Power Co. Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette O'Leary enjoyed a few days visit with relatives rel-atives last week in Salt Lake City. Miss La Wanna Richards of Pleasant Grove is spending a few weeks .at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Blackham and family. fam-ily. Morris Sorensen left last Thursday Thurs-day for service in the U. S. Navy. He was accompanied to Salt Lake City by his mother, Mrs. Malina Sorensen who returned home on Sunday. He is now at Farragut, Idaho to enter training. Bernard Jacobson, Ed. and Don Jensen are enjoying spending their ten days furlough at home with relatives and friends at Moroni. Mo-roni. I Mr. and Mrs. DeLiel Christen-sen Christen-sen of Wales are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl on July 14th. Mother and baby are at the Dice hospital. Miss Ruth Cloward is spending the summer in Salt Lake City where she has employment. Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Peterson ui mi. rieasani are me proua parents of a baby boy born on July 14th at the Dice hospital. Mrs. Don Nielson and children are visiting here with her father, Otis Bradley. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Olson and family of Logan, Utah are spending spend-ing their summer vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Blackham. Bishop Dallas Peterson and Mr. Christensen of Chester with Pres. J. L. Nielssen and Pres. J. R. Christiansen of Fountain Green were Home Missionaries in Moroni Mo-roni West and East wards respectively re-spectively last Sunday. Their talks were enjoyed very much ay all who heard them. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christensen Christen-sen and family of Salt Lake City visited with relatives and friends at Moroni last week end. The "Birthday" club met last Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Minerva Nelson, the occasion occa-sion being her birthday anniversary. anni-versary. The time was spent in social chat after which a delicious deli-cious luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Freston and family of Ely, Nevada have just returned to their home after spending a week with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Soren Nielson. Mrs. Jane Simpson of Salt Lake City visited a few days this week with relatives and friends at Moroni. Mo-roni. Royal Bagley received his call for service in the U. S. Armed forces Sunday stating that he is to report on July 27th. He has enlisted in the Naval Reserve. Miss Marietta Blackham returned re-turned home Tuesday after spending a few days in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blackham made a business trip to Salt Lake City last Monday. Phil Bradley is home on a short furlough from the armed forces to visit with relatives and friends at Moroni. Donnell Henroid and Raymond Friech have both been honorably discharged from the Army because be-cause of illness and they have returned home tms week. Mayor and Mrs. John Gunder-son Gunder-son visited the past week with their families at Salt Lake City and at Brigham City. It is amazing how men who drink copious quantities of liquor know that alcohol doesn't hurt them. |
