Show I I I FOUNTAIN GREEN j Sy Special Correspondence Lieutenant Leo L. Mower has received his pilot certificate for the B-24 type Bombers at Farrant Field, Fort Worth, Texas. He is home for the present on a short furlough before being transferred to Gowan Gowan Field, Boise, Idaho wher he will receive his crew assignment. . Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Lund and children of Salt Lake City are visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Lund. Mrs. Arvilla Jacobsen and daughter, Adra are home after having spent their two weeks' vacation va-cation in Los Angeles and San Francisco with friends and relatives. rela-tives. Miss Lois Coulsen and Virgil Coulsen of Hazelton, Idaho are visiting their grandmother, Mrs. Rena Crowther at Fountain Green. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ivory .and children of Provo visited during the week with relatives. P. F. C. Guy D. Hubbard of Co. A 433rd Sig. Cons. Bn. stationed at Camp Pine Dale, Fresno, Calif, is spending his furlough here with his wife who before her marriage was Miss Elaine Hill. Private William Madsen of the Army Base at Salt Lake City is spending a few aays visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lauritz Madsen. Private Fred Edmunds who, was stationed at Camp Houze, Texas has received his honor able discharge from the Army due to physical disability. Mrs. James Guymon received a telephone call from her son, Verno Guymon 2nd C. C. Navy U.S.S. Harris to the effect that he was well and happy, but had seen plenty of action while on his travels. Verno at the time he telephoned was stationed at San Diego, California. His buddy Hugh Bell, 3rd C.C. Navy U.S.S. Harris, formerly of Fountain Green, while on his furlough, visited with Mrs. Guymon. The Donation Committee for the New Ward chapel are receiving re-ceiving unexpected response from the citizens of this ward and just as soon as building material is available a new chapel will be erected. Mrs. Ruth H. Rigby is reported to be seriously ill at a hospital in Salt Lake City. Mrs. A. A. Anderson is visiting this week with relatives in Provo. Pro-vo. Mrs. S. P. Larsen and grandson, grand-son, McCoy Larsen of Moroni visited vis-ited Sunday with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Welby Aagard are rejoicing over the arrival of a son born July 14th at the Madsen Mad-sen hospital in Mt. Pleasant. |
