Mrs. Roberts is the former Elva Mills of Mt ! Pleasant "and a daughter of Dr. ! E. G. Mills. ! During her stay in Utah she visited with friends and rela- tives in Salt Lake and Ogden J and during the past two weeks J has been a house guest at her j father's home. j Mrs. Robert's husband is busi- j ness representative for the i Southern California Cooks' As- i sociation and a member of the I California Labor council. ! Mrs. D. E. Borg spent last week in Salt Lake with her daughter and family, Mrs. Wesley Orlob. Another daughter, Mrs. Stanley Gilbert and baby daughter, Karen, Kar-en, spent the week in Mt. Pleasant. Pleas-ant. While in Salt Lake Mrs. Borg attended the wedding of her i niece, Miss Yvonne Chapman, ' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Francisco arrived Thursday eve- j ning to spend two weeks with ! her sister, Mrs. Erwin Bollinger, j Miss McCallum is a student nurse at St. Francis hospital in San Francisco. Twelve of Lynn Madsen's little y ill friends attended lu'i birthday party Friday al'terno'm Lynn is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. K Madsen. The youngsters enjoyed games and refreshments and were is-pecially is-pecially pleased with the Valentine Valen-tine nut cups which they took home as favors. Fine Arts Club To Hear Peterson Speech Students Speech students of Mrs. Donna Peterson will give a recital Monday Mon-day evening for members of Fine Arts club. The club will meet at the home of Mrs. Joyce Johansen. Out-of-Town Guests Feted By Sat. Night Rook Club Mr. and Mrs. Otto Clark entertained enter-tained the Saturday night Rook club at a Valentine social Saturday Sat-urday evening. The group was entertained and completely mystified by an hour of magic tricks performed by Edison Allred of Tooele. The nun pitched Valentine darts for their partners and '.o remainder of the evening was spent playing Rook. Prizes for high scores were awarded to Mrs. Alia Jensen and Lester Acord. Mrs. Wrd.t Young and Jay Hafen received the consolation consola-tion prizes. Refreshments were served to twenty club members and five guests. Aldrich was hostess ! to L'O of her friends for a hot. ! luncheon and an afternoon of ! Rook last Saturday, t Mrs. Harold Jensen and Mrs. I Phil Jensen won first and s.c-;ond s.c-;ond prizes and Mrs. Effie Gun-! Gun-! ilerson w as awarded the traveling travel-ing prize. O. S. A. met at the home o! Mrs. John Stansfield last Friday afternoon. After a hot luncheon the group played Rook. Friendship club made a surprise sur-prise call on Mrs. Josephine Jensen Jen-sen Thursday afternoon. Miss Helen Falconer of Green River, I'tah, was guest of honor at a social Thursday evening given bv Miss Ruth Hacking in MacMilian Hall. Miss Falconer is an aunt oi Bonnie Baldwin, a Wasatch student. Other guests at the social were Mrs. Esther Irwin. Miss Shirley Thompson and teachers of McMillan Hall. Colored slides of California and Utah were shown by Miss j Hacking. ' Mr. and Mrs. D. Allen Thomas have had as their guests this week Robert Voorhees and Wil j Hum Alsburg of Shurz, Nevada. Mr. Voorhees graduated from Wasatch Academy last spring and is presently working at the hospital in Shurz. ! Thursday afternoon girl's basketball bas-ketball teams from Gunnison. Manti. Ephraim, Snow. Moroni North Sanpete high schools and ; Wasatch Academy held a bas ketball payday on the campus i of Wasatch Academy. Activities started at 1 p. m. at which time Miss Gwen Charles, coach of the Wasatch team, gave a1 welcoming address. Five basketball bas-ketball games followed and Moroni girls gave a demonstration demonstra-tion of marching. Miss Charles was assisted by Mrs. Esther Irwin in making plans and arrangements for the day. Student hostesses were Bonnie Baldwin and Berniece Vander-wagL Vander-wagL n. Harriet Terry Is Feted On Birthday Anniversary Tuesday after school members of Wasatch faculty and their families met informally in Craighead faculty room to honor hon-or Miss Harriet Terry, teacher of English and director of Alice Hall on the occasion of her birthday. Mrs. Roger Hansen, Mrs. Franklin Elser and Miss Charlotte Char-lotte Warren were hostesses. Birthday cake, coffe, and tea were served. Miss Ruth Hacking entertained freshman girls Sunday School class at a supper partv held in (McMillan Hall Wednesday from 5 to 7. |
