Show Accident Injuries Claim Life of Goshen Youth Leland LeRoy Chapman, 22, -on of Hilthon. and Violet Hansen Han-sen Chapman of Goshen, died in a Payson hospital Monday at 5:15 p. m. of a compound skull fracture, cuts and bruises suffered suffer-ed when the automobile he was driving overturned Saturday near Fountain Green. Ofiicials reported Chapman, with four youthful companions, was driving a car north on highway high-way 189. The machine failed to negotiate a curve entering Fountain Foun-tain Green, skidded and over-lUined. over-lUined. The driver was thrown out of the automobile. Jack Sanfield, Floyd Marshall, D a r r e 1 1 Peterson, and Tom Wl. ite, all of Goshen, passengers, suffered only minor injuries for which they were treated at Fountain Foun-tain Green. The victim was boum February 23, 1919, in. Goshen. He attended Goshen public schools and Pay-son Pay-son high school. in addition to his parents, he is survived by tine following brothers bro-thers and sisters: Mrs. Juanita Hansen, Fraracis, Allie and Shirley Shir-ley Ann Chapman, all of Goshen, and four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Christensen of Fountain Foun-tain Green and Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Steele of Goshen. Mr. Chapman's death increased increas-ed the Utah automobile traffic fatality total to 102 for 1941, nine more than died in a corresponding correspond-ing period last year. It was the iOurda traffic death in Sanpete county this year, compared with only one at this time in 1940. |
