Helping Mrs. Ball on the hostess hos-tess committee was Mrs. Norwood Nor-wood Hardy and Miss Dorothy Peterson. Music Guild members heard Mrs. Maxine Zabriskie discuss "Italian Folk Music and Developed De-veloped Forms" at a regulai meeting Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Ralph Gunn was hostess. Mrs. G. Bert Madsen gave ar interesting talk on "The Culturt of Japan" at a regular meetinj of Junior Literary club Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Mrs. A. J. Pratt was hostess. The tenth birthday of Miss Diane Ball, daughter of Supt and Mrs. W. N. Ball, will be celebrated Saturday, March 19 Her birthday will be marked b a movie party preceded by a luncheon Saturday evening for 20 of her young classmates. Mrs. Roy Millet of Price spent Sunday visiting with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hughes. Mrs. Charles Eatinger it-spending it-spending a couple weeks in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Myron Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Richards of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs James Gibbs of Elsinore, Utah, spent last weekend at the H. C. Merz home. Terry Lynn Johansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Johansen, cele brated his fifth birthday Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon with a group of 17 of his little friends. Each guest was given a favor of an Easter basket filled with candy eggs. Outdoor games and delicious de-licious refreshments were enjoyed en-joyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. John Sours and sons will spend the weekend in Salt Lake at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Atkinson. Mi Sours will attend the state basket bas-ket ball tournament for class B high schools at the University of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. John L. Done of Payson spent a few days last week with their son, Bud, in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Mason Burnside returned Monday from a Payson hospital where she underwent an operation opera-tion last week. Her condition is reported as excellent. While Mrs. Burnside has been recovering recover-ing her daughter, Mrs. Helen Nelson of Salt Lake has been with her. Mrs. J. Leo Seely has been spending the last two weeks in Salt Lake getting acquainted with her neyy grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Pat Patterson March 6 in Salt Lake. Eight couples gathered Wed- nesday evening to honor Mrs! Arthur Rasmussen on her birthday. birth-day. Progressive Rook was played during the evening. The party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus-sen. Rasmus-sen. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson of Pocatello, Idaho were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. S. Jensen last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Stans-field Stans-field and Mr. and Mrs. Ed. S Jensen visited in Provo recently with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Stans field. Mrs. Bardell Beck and family have been visiting in American Fork with Mrs. William Shelter since Tuesday. Mrs. Nell Coates of Salt Lake city was a weekend guest at the Mt. Pleasant home of her sister, Mrs. Anna Syndergaard. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Terry drove to southern California last week with Frank-Pritchett who had business in Los Angeles. The Terrys visited with relatives at Pomona. They made the returr trip in a truck purchased by Mr Pritchett. Proud grandparents are Mr and Mrs.'Nels Waldemar who learned recently of the birth o' a son to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif Mrs. Anderson is the former Hannah Han-nah Waldemar of Mt. Pleasant. Her sister, Mrs. Rhoda Drape; recently returned from a month's visit at the Anderson's Los Ang eles home. David Poulsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Poulsen, was honored guest last Wednesday evening at a family gathering. The occasion: oc-casion: his seventh birthday! Mrs Alherta Mer? has rp- ceived word that . her grandson Jack Peacock, former North Sanpete San-pete high school student, wil' leave the United States soon for an 18-month European cruise. Young Peacock, who is a seaman, sea-man, second class in the Navy-resided Navy-resided with Mrs. Merz during 1947-48 when he attended North Sanpete high school. |
