Show Director Of University Band Given Wide Recognition When their final examination "blue books" are laid aside fo-another fo-another quarter on March IS University of Utah band mem bers will pack up for their annual an-nual spring concert tour, Ronald D. Gregory, band director, announced an-nounced Friday. Bright and early March 21 the 120 members of the famei' organization will leave fo Richmond, where they will pla their first engagement at Nort! Cache high school. In the eve ning they will play at Loga high school. The concert tour will contintu March 22 with programs sched uled for Bear River high schoo and two performances In Bo-Elder Bo-Elder high school In Brigham City. The final day of the tour wll find the organization playi-four playi-four programs, one at Morga' high school, two afternoon con certs at Weber high school ir Ogden and an evening show a Clearfield Naval Base. Meanwhile Mr. Gregory an nounced his Itinerary for sprin quarter. He will travel to Oi dtrville on April 1 to Judge hig school musical events, followin this jaunt with similar trips ti Pocatello, Idaho, on April Z' and 23 and Ely, Nevada, on Ma-13 Ma-13 and 14. Meanwhile requests to obtair the University's 800-ft. reel c 16 mm color movies on ban formations filmed at homr games in the 1948 football season sea-son were pouring in to Mr. Gregory's office at an unprecedented unprece-dented rate. Faced with the need to backlog the films, the University Is attempting to fim means to Increase the numhe of film copies available to hig' schools, Mr. Gregory said. |
