Show Places High In Contest Competing in a county and district dist-rict contest for high school students conducted at Snow College March 8, Ncth Sanpete high amassed sufficient suf-ficient pcints to win first place in the county, with six firsts, three seconds, and two thirds. Ten schools were represented by two hundred students in the district competition, which wes wen by Richfield. North Sanpete captured individual and team honors in the amatem typing event. Ray A. Peterson won first place for both speed and accur-?.ey accur-?.ey over entrants from all other sshcls. with an average net speed cf 65 words per minute This wa& considered the outstanding record of the meet. Albert Peterson, also ot North Sanpete, placed second with 60 net words per minute, and Ellen Anderson of Moroni was third with 58, in the -arae event. The North Sanpete Amateur Type-writing Type-writing team won first place, with Richfield second and Moroni third The N. S. second year team took First in the county but second in the district, with Richfield first and Moroni Mo-roni third. The North Sanpete first yeai team won second place in the district dist-rict with Eugene Peterson winning first place individual in the county and second in the district. Moroni sained highest ranking for team honors, and Voneal Anderson .captured .cap-tured second position for individual county honors. In this event, Wasatch Wa-satch Academy placed third. The county bookkeeping honors were taken by the North Sanpete team, which was barely nosed out in the district by Richfield and Fill-mere. Fill-mere. Swen Nielson of Wasatch Academy took individual bookkeeping bookkeep-ing honors. Moroni team was second in the county. Moroni walked away with county shorthand honors, with Jewel Thomas Thom-as winning highest individual honors hon-ors in the county, and third for the district. |
