Show Moroni High Wins Honors at Provo Meet Under the direction of Ray Anderson, Ander-son, music instructor and Spafford Sumpsion, principal, 150 Moroni high school students participated la the musical contest held In Provo Thursday, Friday and Saturday cf iast mek and returned home with honors. The mixed chorus was exceptionally exception-ally honored as they were the only chorus in class C schools to rate highly superior. The chorus consisted con-sisted of 76 voices. Ths Moroni band rated superor. Tha acapella chorus also rated highly superior with 52 voices. There were three states competing far honors hon-ors and out of these three states five were rated highly superior. They were Moroni High, Ogden High, Payson High, Logan High and Provo High. Earl Bailey rated excellent la Drum Major Twirling. The girls glee club was rated highly high-ly superior. The boys glee elub, excellent; ex-cellent; In Tenor solo, Harold Ar-noldson Ar-noldson rated superior; In Soprano solo, Mis Gene Bagnall rated highly high-ly superior; Trombone solo, France Sort-risen, highly superior; plana solo, Miss Voneal Anderosn, superior; su-perior; volirs solo, Miss Rheit Anderson, An-derson, excellent; Cello solo, urke Anderson, superior; baritone eolo, Neal F. Sorensen, superior; Boys Quartett. good; Orchestra, excellent; Violin Trio, excellent; Violin Trio, average; Band marching and inspection in-spection was rated superior. Mr. Ray AndfTson returned home feeling highly honored for the work he has accomplished during the past year with his music classes and chorus. The Judge of the mixed chorus and the Acapella chorus complimented compli-mented him saying that Ills tone quality was uncomparable. |
