Show Utah Symphony Opens Season Next Wednesday The 1957-58 Utah Symphony season opens next week, Wednesday, Wednes-day, October 30, and the year a-head a-head looks like "one of the greatest great-est the Utah Symphony has ever enjoyed," according to Raymond J. Ashton, president of the Utah Symphony Sym-phony board. Conductor Maurice Abravanel will be back for his 11th season as musical director as well a.s conductor and all the principal players from last year, including Ooncertmaster Harold Wolf, will return. Nadine Connor, glamorous Metropolitan Met-ropolitan Opera star, will be guest soloist for the initial concert. Miss Connor is a favorite in Europe as well as Amerioa. She is well known for her work in television and on radio as well as on the operatic stage. She will appear with Maestro Maes-tro Abravanel and the symphony in a concert at Ogden on Tuesday, Oct. 29, as well as the Salt Lake concert on October 30. Arrangements also have been concluded with Foodtown and AG Food Stores throughout the state to sponsor three youth concerts which will be open to all school children. The first of the youth series will be held at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Saturday, Nov. 2. In addition to Miss Conner, Tossy Tos-sy Spivakovsky, world-famed violinist;; viol-inist;; Jose Iturbi, popular pianist and movie great; Grant Johannes-en, Johannes-en, internationally famed Utah pianist, pia-nist, and Lubcschutz and Neme-noff, Neme-noff, famed piano team, will be guest artists to appear with the symphony this season.
