Show Postmaster Tells Of New Mail Dispatch Time With all the unfavorable publicity public-ity given to the postal service I feel that our primary purpose is to "move todays mail today in a business bus-iness like way." This is the primary pri-mary function of the mail service and that is the thing that we at the Post office in Pleasant Grove are trying to do. The District Operations manager mana-ger for the Utah district has made available a new dispatch of mail going to the eastern part of the United States, Northwestern States and Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fran-cisco. With a change in train schedules sche-dules the mail leaving Pleasant Grove quite often was being delayed de-layed by as much as 21 hours on the distpatch at 5 p.m. However, now people who wish to have their mail speeded up by as much as 21 hours can have this mail in the post office by 1 p.m. and the mail will be dispatched and on its way by 1:30 p.m. each day except Sundays Sun-days and Holidays. Our regular dispatch of mail will be maintained and this additional ad-ditional dispatch will be made to expedite the movement of mail from Pleasant Grove to the trains. If you have any questions with regard to the mail service please feel free to call at the Post Office Of-fice or phone 6111. Christmas Packages Remember if you are sending mail to servicemen or missionaries overseas, this mail should be mailed mail-ed not later than Nov. 20, 1957 and to make sure it will be delivered deliv-ered by Christmas, the earlier it is mailed will insure its prompt delivery. |
