Show Contract Awarded For Work Under Watershed Project The first contract under the American Fork - Dry Creek Watershed Project was awarded Octobeir 27, 1959 by Alpine Irrigation Irri-gation Company, according to D. D. Adamson, irrigation company president. The work to be done under this contract consists of approximately 1.3 miles of irrigation irri-gation pipeline and pipeline structures struc-tures and three concrete diversion diver-sion structures on Chipman Creeik, Dry Oreek and Box Elder Creek. This project will remove water from the " creeks nearV their mouths and convey the water in concrete and steel pipe to the existing Alpine Irrigation Co. diversion structure. The project will save approximatey 25 per cent of the available flow from the creeks during the period, from July 1 to Sept. 30. The low bid for the job was $47,764.00 submitted by Leftwich Construction Company of Provo, Utah. Three other bids were received. re-ceived. The engineers estimate was $41,953.00. Plans and specifications were prepared by the Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Service who will also furnish inspection and layout assistance to the irrigation company. Part of the construction cost will be paid for by the federal government under the American Fork-Dry Creek Watershed Project, and the remainder by the irrigation company. The company has obtained ob-tained a loan from the Utah Water and Power Board to defray de-fray the major part of their cost. Work is expected to commence com-mence on Nov. 2, and be completed comple-ted approximately April 15, 1960. |
