Show Boy Scouts Invited To Apply for Special Award Special recognition will come to two outstanding boy scouts- or explorers of the Utah National Parks Council during the months of November and December from the Zale Jewelry Company in the form of a watch, according to Floyd Loveridge, Scout Executive. Execut-ive. Each month regaining in 1960 will see the outstanding boy in the Utah National Parks Council, Coun-cil, Boy Scouts of America, honored hon-ored with a new watch. Method to be used will be that each district will review the applications ap-plications received and by November Nov-ember 15 and December 15 submit sub-mit to the Council office the one boy selected from that district. Application forms will be available avail-able from the district chairman and district commissioner. When the application of the outstanding boy in each of the Council's 36 districts is received, then a Council committee will review re-view the applications and select the winner. Each month is a separate sep-arate contest. A boy may enter only once) either the November 15 or December De-cember 15 contest. , Among the things to be considered con-sidered in the application each boy will fill out are: hobbies, statement on possible life interest; inter-est; autobiography in own handwriting hand-writing (200 to 400 words); Scouting record (registration, advancement, camping, leadership positions, awards and recognitions) recogni-tions) ; school record; and church "record. Zale Jewerly Company of Provo Pro-vo is participating in a national project of the company to honor outstanding boys in each Council Coun-cil during the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Boy Scouts of America, concluded Mr. Loveridge. |
